GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The fishing vessel is of a bow picker configuration used primarily for salmon drift gillnetting. It is constructed of a molded fiberglass hull with raked stem, hard chine, semi-V bottom, slight elliptical stern with recessed square transom, cabin aft, fish hold forward of cabin, and recessed self-bailing well deck forward of fish hold.
Entry into the cabin is by a hinged aluminum door found on centerline of forward cabin bulkhead. The cabin layout from forward to aft is as follows: to port of centerline is the helmsman station with electronic array & stowage under foot rest and seat, then counter space and sink with stowage under. To starboard of centerline is the dinette table with facing bench seat with stowage under, then L-shaped counter containing stove with stowage under and Espar cabin heater overhead. Athwartships aft is the enclosed head containing the marine toilet to starboard with raised berth abutted extending to port side of cabin. Access into the engine room is by raising inset floor hatches found on centerline (one found near aft end under berth and one forward near cabin entry door). The engine room contains the propulsion engines (one to port & one to starboard of centerline near transom), hydraulic tank, fuel tank for propulsion engines, vessel batteries, bilge pumps, hydraulic pump off port engine, and two through hulls for marine toilet; all is well arranged. Located atop of the cabin is a propane bottle, mast, aluminum diesel tank for cabin heater, and aluminum hatch fitted to raised fiberglass combing. Secured to the outboard side on the aft end of cabin is a spare propane bottle.
Forward of the cabin is the fish hold that is divided into three sections by corrugated aluminum bin boards. The fish hold area can be set up with six brailer bags, and the total fish hold carrying capacity is an estimated 8,000 lbs. of salmon. The fish hold is equipped with a sump pump on center in aft of hold, and the fish hold area is covered by two aluminum diamond plate hatch covers fitted to raised fiberglass combing.
Forward of the fish hold is a recessed self-bailing well deck. The well deck layout contains the gillnet reel on center, then forward of the gillnet reel is an oval aluminum deck hatch for access below deck (below deck a through hull with sea cock, Pacer pump for deck hose and bow water spray bar, plastic water tank, and sump pump are found), to port and forward of the gillnet reel above deck is a second helmsman station, and secured to the bow is a hydraulic bow roller with aluminum pipe bow water spray bar under.
Secured to the outboard side on the transom are the aluminum pipe water jet guard, water jets, and trim tabs with dual stainless steel hydraulic rams.
GENERAL COMMENTS:
It is to be noted that at time of vessel inspection it was observed that below the forward deck from the forward fish hold bulkhead extending to the bow is in need of maintenance. It is the opinion of the undersigned that the deck & deck supports from the forward fish hold bulkhead extending to the bow will need to be repaired and/ or replaced in the near future. The vessel will be suited for its intended service once
