GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The fishing vessel is of a bowpicker configuration and is used primarily for salmon drift gillnetting. The hull, decks, and cabin are constructed of marine-grade aluminum plate. The hull is a planning design with a curved stem, hard chine with 4” aluminum extensions for added lift, semi-V bottom, and rounded transom.
The vessel layout from aft end to bow is as follows: Secured to outboard side on transom are the waterjet on center with trim tabs to outboard sides of waterjet and aluminum pipe waterjet guard; then cabin, then fish hold, then work deck, then bow roller secured to bow. Entry into the cabin is through a hinged aluminum door. The cabin layout from forward to aft is as follows: to port of centerline is the helmsman station with electronic array and refrigerator under helmsman seat, then sink with stowage under, then shelf with Red Dot under. To starboard of centerline are the radar display & a VHF radio and a fixed table with facing seat with stowage under, then counter space with stowage under, then oil-fired cabin heater; athwartships at aft end are two stacked berths.
Raising the bottom berth allows access into the engine room; access into the engine room is also granted by raising an inset floor hatch found on center in the cabin sole & removing an enclosed box surrounding the front of the propulsion engine forward of the bottom berth. The engine room contains the propulsion engine, vessel batteries, fuel filters, hydraulic tank, fresh water tank, bilge pump, raw sea water strainer, hydraulic pump off propulsion engine, electric hydraulic bucket shift pump, and propulsion engine fuel tank; all are well arranged. Secured to outboard sides on the cabin are an aluminum hatch fitted to raised combings atop, an aluminum light mast & radar dome mount atop , EPIRB atop, aluminum pipe hand rail atop, and aluminum stove oil tank on aft end.
Forward of the cabin is the fish hold. The fish hold is divided into three sections by removable corrugated aluminum bin boards; and is secured by three aluminum diamond plate hatch covers, located in the fish hold is a sump pump on manual switch. The fish hold can be setup with six brailer bags and has a total capacity of approximately 6,000 lbs. of salmon.
Forward of the fish hold is the work deck, which is recessed and self-bailing. The work deck contains the gillnet reel on center with anchor drum to starboard, aft of the anchor drum is the Pacer pump, forward of the anchor drum is an aluminum anchor box, port of gillnet reel is an oval aluminum deck hatch for access below deck, forward of the oval aluminum deck hatch is the forward helmsman station (found within the helmsman station is the auxiliary engine), secured to the bow is an aluminum live roller bow roller with two aluminum live roller fairleads.
GENERAL COMMENTS:
The vessel appears to be both sound and watertight in its hull, decks, and cabin; at time of vessel inspection the owner was undergoing various pre-season maintenance on the vessel, once pre- season maintenance is completed the vessel will be suited for its intended service.
