GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The fishing vessel is of a bowpicker configuration. The hull is of molded fiberglass construction. The hull is a planning design with a curved stem, gull wing (inverted chine) for added lift, semi-V bottom, square transom, cabin aft, large fish hold amidships and flush deck forward.
Access to the cabin is through an aluminum watertight hinged door (21”W X 59”H) centered on the forward cabin bulkhead. The cabin is comfortable and well appointed. To port forward is a helmsman station with electronic array, then counter with recessed sink, with refrigerator and storage locker under. To starboard forward is a galley t able with facing seat and storage under, then a propane two-burner stove with oven, then aft is an oil-fired cabin heater. A small room is found in the aft starboard corner of the cabin with a counter with sink and hooks for hanging clothing (the toilet has been removed). Two berths are stacked athwartship at the back of the cabin. A watertight hatch fitted to a raised combing in the cabin lid provides access for removing the main propulsion engines.
The engine compartment is below the lower berth with access from either a hatch centered in the cabin sole or by removing the lower berth mattress and plywood base. The engine room contains two gasoline propulsion engines coupled to Hamilton water jets, three 8D 12VC batteries, a Yanmar diesel auxiliary engine with hydrauilic pump, hydraulic pump on starboard main, Rule bilge pump, fuel tank, and hydraulic tank
NEW Flush Decks. Forward of the cabin is a large fish hold covered with three molded fiberglass hatches fitted to raised combing and aluminum channel. The fish hold is divided into three sections and set up with six Nomar brailer bags and has a capacity of 6,500 lbs. Fish hold is also insulated to carry slush ice.
Forward of the fish hold is a flush deck with gillnet reel and levelwind centered with anchor rode in a box to starboard and a helmsman station secured to the port rail forward. A Freeman deck hatch forward of the gillnet reel provides access below deck where a 2” hydraulic Pacer pump for net wash and general washdown is located. The bow is fitted with a hydraulic-driven power roller with two aluminum fairleads
Secured to the transom is an aluminum pipe jet guard and ladder. Aluminum trim tab plates with double stainless steel rams on each are positioned below the Hamilton water jets.
GENERAL COMMENTS:
The owners have spent over $20,000 since the last survey dated June 2, 2014. In 2016, the power roller and levelwind were rebuilt, the cabin interior was completely re-wired and all lights were replaced with LED fixtures in the engine room, cabin, deck and forward light on power roller. New trim tabs and electric/hydraulic trim pump was installed and the jet guard was replaced. The galley stove was also replaced. All 12VDC ship’s batteries were replaced in May 2017. The starboard main propulsion engine was also replaced in May 2017 with a rebuilt gasoline engine and two stainless steel sandtrap filters (one for each engine)
Controls to operate the trim tabs, start and shut-down both propulsion engines are found at both helmsman stations.
The vessel appears to be both sound and watertight in her hull, decks and cabin and is well suited for her intended service as a drift gillnet vessel.
