GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The fishing vessel is of a semi-displacement purse seiner design. The hull, decks, and main cabin are constructed of molded fiberglass, and top house over main cabin is of welded aluminum. The vessel has a curved stem, rounded chine with rolling chocks, one-quarter tunnel, square transom, flush deck from cabin aft except for raised fiberglass fish hold combing amidships, and main cabin with top house forward.
Entry into the main cabin is through a hinged wood “Dutch” door found to starboard of centerline on aft end of main cabin bulkhead. The main cabin layout from forward to aft is as follows: four V-berths in fo’c’sle, then aft of fo’c’sle to port the dinette table with double facing bench seats with stowage under, then galley; aft of fo’c’sle to starboard a control station, then day bunk that is being utilized as a storage shelf with stowage compartments and refrigerator under, then enclosed head that is being utilized as storage compartment due to toilet being removed from service. Found on centerline inset into the main cabin sole is a floor hatch for access into the engine room. The engine room can also be accessed by an aluminum watertight hatch incorporated into the forward fish hold bulkhead, also access to the top of the engine is by opening two wood doors on hinges found below the counter space found on center near the galley. The engine room contains the propulsion engine, hydraulic tank, hydraulic pumps, RSW system, bilge pumps, through hulls with sea cocks, vessel batteries, fresh water tanks, fuel filters, and fresh water pump; all is well arranged. Whereas entry into the top house is by an aluminum rung ladder secured to port on outboard side of aft cabin bulkhead, entry into the top house is by a sliding door located to port of centerline on aft end of top house. The top house contains the primary helmsman station with electronic array to starboard forward, and a day bunk athwartships at aft end. Found on the weather deck aft of the top house is a fiberglass box for propane bottle storage, and steel rung ladder for accessing the crow’s nest atop of the mast.
The deck layout aft of main cabin with top house is as follows. Directly aft of the main cabin is the mast on centerline with main boom and picking boom secured, Pacer pump for fish hold and deck hose, and exhaust shroud for exhaust stack just port of mast. On centerline aft of mast is the deck winch, and to port & starboard of deck winch secured to deck and inboard side of bulwarks are davit stanchions. Aft of deck winch is a raised fiberglass combing covered by three aluminum hatch covers securing the fish hold, the fish hold capacity is an estimated 30,000 lbs. of salmon in RSW. To port of raised fish hold combing is an inset aluminum deck hatch for additional access into the fish hold. Directly aft of the raised fish hold combing on center is an inset aluminum deck hatch for access into the forward lazarette. The forward lazarette can also be accessed by an aluminum water tight hatch that is incorporated into the partitioning transverse bulkhead on center for the fish hold & forward lazarette. The forward lazarette contains the steering gear on centerline, sump pumps, and fuel tanks (one to port & one to starboard). Aft of the forward lazarette aluminum deck hatch is another inset aluminum deck hatch for access into the aft lazarette, which is used as dry storage. Incorporated into the partitioning transverse bulkhead for the forward & aft lazarettes on center is an aluminum watertight hatch that can be removed from the aft lazarette side to gain access into the forward lazarette.
Forward of the cabin secured to the deck on centerline is the anchor winch containing the anchor rode securing the anchor to the bow.
