VESSEL DESCRIPTION:
FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) 42 foot top-house beach seiner. Power by a single diesel engine. Configured as a typical Pacific Northwest type seiner with forward cabin with top house. Large aft deck with fish hold forward. Mast is “A” framed support 5″ steel and 6″ aluminum main boom. Walk around deck with a ladder to top pilot house cabin. Vessel has 3 operation stations. One in the pilot house, crows nest, and aft deck area. There is a 15 ton RSW cooled fish hold just aft of the main deck winch and a steering lazerette compartment furthest aft with a water tight Freeman style hatch for access. Main engine propulsion is located midship with
access from the main cabin area. There is a hydraulic drum anchor winch foremost on the bow area.

Prop(s) description: Prop(s) built by HyTorq. Prop has four blades and is made of Prop hub Stamped with a diameter and pitch of 28 X, 22. RH,
Spare props: One under cabin sole.
Shaft size / material: Shaft size is 2″ and made of Stainless steel. No pitting, cracks or corrosion sighted. Shaft appears straight with no visible bends.
Strut(s): No strut. Shaft log thru shoal keel which is secure.
Cutlass (shaft) bearing(s): Good condition. No play found in cutlass bearing,
NOTE: Monitor condition of cutlass bearing(s) after each haul out and replace if play is excessive or if shaft vibrations are felt when underway.
RUDDER(S):
Rudder type/condition: axe head type with rudder shoe. Well secured. No abnormal horizontal or fore/aft movement in rudder. No cracks or bending or damage sighted in rudder.
Other notes: Surveyors note: Rudder was painted prior to launch.
ANODES:
Rudder: Yes.
Anode notes: Monitor all anodes frequently on hull and underwater equipment and replace when they are no more than 50% wasted. Anodes are normal replacement items designed to help protect the running gear from electrolysis. Keep spares aboard vessel.
EXTERIOR & BOTTOM:
INTERIOR HULL & STRUCTURAL INSPECTION
HULL INTERIOR & STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS:
Hull to deck joint: Inside flange type, Deck joint was covered with FRP (Fiber reinforced plastic), no cracks sighted where it could be sighted.
Stringers: Hull stiffness provided by 3″ X 10″ and 3″ X 8″ FRP covered wooden longitudinal stringers that run the length of the vessel. Complete inspection not possible due to limited access. Stringers were sighted in the engine compartment and under portions of cabin sole and are well glassed into hull where sighted. Stringers checked with Moisture meter where accessible and all readings were relatively Dry. Stringers
sounded with hammer where accessible and appeared very sound. No soft spots, separation, cracks rotting or splitting sighted. Limber holes appear to be adequately sealed where sighted.
Bulkheads: Athwartships reinforcement enhanced by structural bulkheads bonded to the hull with FRP (fiber reinforced plastic). All tabbing appears serviceable and sound with no cracks or separation of tabbing sighted in any compartments. No visual evidence of movement sighted in any bulkhead.
Inside of transom: Reinforced. Secure-no cracks or separation sighted.
ALL THRU HULL FITTINGS:
Sea valves: Bronze seacock ball valve(s) installed, Sea valves sighted are used for: RSW system, Bilge drain.
Sea valve condition: Sea valves are all functional.
TOP DECK & SUPERSTRUCTURE
MAIN DECK & FITTINGS:
Deck Surface: fiberglass over plywood with 3″ X 4″ deck support beams (core not sampled). Gray non skid.
Anchor platform: None. Welded Steel bow roller mounted to aluminum bulkwarks.
Windlass: Thompson hydraulic drum winch.
Stanchions/side rail(s): Vessel has a 16″ aluminum bullworks all around. Bullwork is 22″ on the stern end.
Deck hatches: Baier hatch on transom for access to the steerage compartment.
Cleats & fairleads: Horn cleats are all well secured to deck and side deck and are functional.
Bulwark: All aluminum.
Ventilation: Cowl vents port and starboard side for engine room air.
Cabin (house) to deck joint: FRP.
Windshield: Wood framed safety glass.
COCKPIT / AFT DECK:
Scuppers/deck drain(s): 3′ X 8″ freeing ports on port and starboard sides of aluminum bulwarks.
Top/superstructure: FRP over plywood.
Cabin entrance: Swing door starboard of centerline.
Engine compartment access: lift out steps and panels in aft cabin area.
Wash down: Wash down hose on aft deck.

Refrigeration: 15 ton IMS refrigerated sea water with hydraulic driven double piston compressor. Serial number.6GSD00108030 Chiller is IMS 15 ton copper tube with stainless steel housing and a Banjo 3″ circ pump RSW powered by 6 cube Eaton PMB098ML run of PTO of reduction gear (rpt new 2014)
Other: Marco deck purse winch.with 2 capstans and line chive and E- stop Purse davits are custom steel with stainless roller fairleads. Deck machinery powered by 25/35 gpm Vickers pump with electromagnetic clutch of of main engine. Main mast is a 6″ tapered to 5″ steel schedule 80 with 3″ A frame support. With crows nest on top.
Main boom is a 5 1/2″ Aluminum with strongbacks. Seine block is 26″ with power pinch wheel and swivel. Pullmaster PL -5 on main boom. Pullmaster PL 5 on mast for main boom.
