DESCRIPTION:
The vessel is a single diesel driven commercial fishing vessel that is now rigged for salmon seining in Alaska waters but has previously been rigged for multi-species commercial fishing in Canada. It is very heavily built and has a hydraulic system that reflects its participation in the Canadian drum seining fishery. It has continuous fore and aft sheer and camber, a break timber well forward to the foredeck, which can be accessed from port and starboard and a round turn of the bilge. It has a flush deck with no poop deck, a cut away rail around the horse shoe stern and scuppers full length to the break timbers. As is typical of Canadian vessels, it was constructed with no sponsons, but with very heavy guards and cap rails and fit with closely centered frames. The forepeak houses four fore and aft bunks and has an escape hatch/skylight. As is typical of this type of vessel it has inboard concrete ballast.
