VESSEL DESCRIPTION
The F/V is a 38’ Alaskan shallow draft, purse seiner with house forward with flybridge on top, wrap-around decks, and work deck aft with fish hold and lazarette under the work deck. The vessel is a displacement monohull with a raked bow, rounded chine, full keel, and square stern. Forward on bow is anchor and anchor windlass. The hull sides and bulwarks are protected by teak rub rails. The bulwarks average 15” high with scuppers cut into bulwark for deck drainage. The work deck is similar to a Prince William Sound seiner configuration with deck capstan, main mast, main boom, picking booms, power block and hydraulic winches to orchestrate the operations of seine fishing. All ship hydraulics are running off a Vickers 12/24 GPM pump, driven off the main engine’s PTO. Under deck, the vessel is supported and divided by three bulkheads. Most forward is the fo’s’cle, that is accessed through cabin and has bunked V-berths that sleep four. Next aft is engine room that can be accessed through cabin sole and two Freeman hatches in forward work deck. Forward engine room houses start and house batteries and can access hydraulic pump on front of main engine. The aft engine room has the main engine at centerline with fuel manifold, fuel filtration, and is drained by Rule bilge pump. Next aft is one insulated fiberglass fish hold; estimated capacity of 27,500 lbs. with no RSW and is accessed by three rectangular hatches fit to raised combing. Aft of the fish hold is the lazarette; accessed by a 26” oval Freeman hatch in aft deck. The lazarette houses the two diesel tanks, water tank, and rudder post with steering ram. There is no bilge pump plumbed currently.
INTERIOR DESCRIPTION
The cabin is accessed through a wood companionway to starboard in aft cabin, down three stairs upon entry, and laid out with galley to port, aft corner. The galley’s aft counter has a recessed sink with water pump and heater below. The Dickinson diesel stove is next forward and then the cabin helm station most forward on starboard with engine controls, electronics and DC breaker panel. Forward at centerline is access to fo’c’sle and to starboard is settee with wood table and two facing bench seat which can be converted to additional berth. Next aft is the enclosed head. The cabin finished with gelcoat on fiberglass, Deck-o-Guard paneling, team trim, and linoleum over plywood sole.
