GENERAL VESSEL DESCRIPTION and LAYOUT:
The FV is a single diesel engine w/ propeller powered Delta 42 that has been stretched at the stern to 49′. The vessel has a molded fiberglass hull w/ vee bow, raked stem, rounded chine’s w/ 6 ½” wide tapered rolling chocks w/ tunnel for shallow water seining. Enclosed pilothouse/ cabin forward w/ fish hold amidships with open self bailing work deck aft. Four transverse bulkheads into six below deck compartments divide the vessel with two sets of longitudinal wood with fiberglass overlay stringers; bow compartment, dry storage/ batteries, engine room, main hold and lazaret. There is¾” steel stem iron that tapers down from the anchor roller around the forefoot to the rudder shoe.
This vessel is rigged for purse seining; at the bow first is the anchor roller, anchor, mooring cleats and hydraulic anchor winch mounted to the fore deck. The walkways lead aft port and starboard to the main deck, with ¾” aluminum pipe safety handrails mounted to the pilothouse. An aluminum ladder stepping up from port aft of the main cabin accesses the enclosed pilothouse with safety railing encompassing aft cabin lid. Mounted too starboard aft pilothouse bulkhead is an AC chest freezer with Life Sling mounted to the port railing. The Epirb is mounted to the back of the pilothouse with the self launching survival raft mounted to the cabin lid.
An aluminum 6″ pipe mast w/ aluminum 2 ½” pipe fore braces mounted to forward bow bulwarks. Mast support aluminum 6″ pipe main boom, aluminum 4″ pipe picking boom, fiberglass crow’s nest w/ antennas, lights and radar sweep. The pilothouse is entered port side through an aluminum water tight Dutch door with windows. To the starboard aft of entry is a day bunk w/ storage underneath bunk. Forward is the dash area, centerline is a hydraulic helm w/ jog steering control and engine controls port and starboard sides w/ the starboard side as the main helm w/ helm seat, electronics, engine instruments, DC electrical panel and a navigational compass.
A hinged aluminum Dutch door w/ windows enters the cabin from starboard aft stepping down. To port of entry amidships is a Formica counter top with stainless sink, cupboards and counter space. Next to the port is the diesel galley range; fuel is supplied from a day tank under the pilothouse dash. Next forward is a Formica counter top with a AC/DC refrigerator/ freezer recessed underneath, cabinetry has drawers and cupboards for storage. Next forward to the port is the galley table with fore/ aftseating for four with storage underneath. To the starboard of entry is an enclosed head with marine toilet with 12VDC macerator Next forward is a day bunk/ settee with electrical panel and electronics mounted to the wall. Next amidships forward is an open companionway that accesses the forecastle stepping down. The forecastle contains two sets of tiered bunks with storage under the bottom bunks. Two hatches in cabin sole access first: dry storage/ battery compartment, next aft is access to the forward engine room that houses the main engine, hydraulics, filters, hydraulic reservoir, bilge pumps and bilge alarm. The entry stairs and a panel under the galley sink also access the engine room. The vessel interior is finished with a vinyl sole, vinyl and wood trim ceiling, Formica/ wood cabinets, bulkheads with wood trim on the cabinets and lid and aluminum framed glass windows.
Aft of the cabin is the self-bailing work deck encompassed w/ 18″ raised fiberglass caped with aluminum 3″ pipe bulwarks. To the port is a ladder that accesses the pilothouse, under the ladder is a Tyee #2 manual deck pump for pumping out fish hold, center amidships against the aft cabin bulkhead is the main mast w/ hydraulic deck controls and aluminum exhaust shroud w/ muffler and to the starboard are engine room vents and aluminum cabin Dutch entry door. To port and starboard sides are aluminum 3″ pipe vanging stanchions attached to the deck and sides of main cabin. Next aft amidships forward of the fish hold is a double headed hydraulic pursing winch and to the port is an aluminum flush watertight engine room access hatch. Next aft is the fish hold w/ raised coaming and has a 94″ x 94″ opening covered with two hinged aluminum hatch covers w/ small access hatches, hold can be binned into three compartments and is plumbed for RSW w/ sump and gel coated with watertight accesses to the shaft alley for servicing stuffing box and propeller shaft. Next aft is the lazaret accessed through an aluminum watertight flush deck hatch port amidships aft deck. The lazaret contains the fuel tanks, fresh water tank, 30.0 kW generator with diesel auxiliary, IMS 18-ton RSW system, hydraulic steering ram, rudder quadrant, rudder shaft seal, two 12VDC bilge pumps port and starboard w/ floats and bilge high water alarm.
