GENERAL VESSEL DESCRIPTION and LAYOUT:
The vessel is welded aluminum seine skiff powered by a single diesel engine w/ shaft driven propeller. The hull has a raked stem w/ reinforced bow, hard chine bottom, flat transom stern w/ floatation tanks under the deck in the bow and port and starboard sides. The reinforced bow has rubber bumpers w/ towing rigging and there are F- 6 and F-2 buoys encompassing the skiffs bulwarks. The skiff is encompassed w/ 28″ high aluminum bulwarks with tie down rails and a self bailing open work deck. At the bow first is a storage compartment w/ plywood lid. Next aft is the helm console amidships w/ hydraulic steering, engine controls, engine gauges and VHF marine radio transceiver. Next is the engine compartment w/ raised hatch coaming covered w/ aluminum hatch cover accessing the main engine, transmission, fuel filter and DC bilge pump w/ float. The fuel tank aft of the engine compartment w/ fuel filter accessible port side aft engine compartment. There is an aluminum 5 ½” reinforced pipe tow post mounted centerline amidships aft stern. Centerline stern there is a plywood hatch cover that accesses the hydraulic steering ram and rudder shaft seal.

GENERAL COMMENTS AND CONDITION:
The skiff appears sound and well built to accepted standards and practices, in a workmanship like manner. The hull and deck appear to be in good condition and maintenance for skiffs age w/ normal wear and use.
The machinery and engine compartment are clean w/ signs of ongoing maintenance. Owner reports installing running take out main engine, rebuilding transmission, installing a new propeller shaft and new battery 05/ 2018.
The bottom of the vessel appears to be in good condition and maintenance w/ no damages noted. Vessel was in lay up during my inspection, no systems were tested for operation. After this inspection it is the opinion of the attending surveyor that this vessel appears to be in suitable condition for operation in its intended service, subject to the above Findings and Recommendations for Safety and General Comments and Condition.
