GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The fishing vessel of a bowpicker configuration and is used primarily for salmon drift gillnetting. The hull, decks, bulkheads and cabin are constructed of marine-grade aluminum plate. The hull is a planning design with a curved stem, hard chine, semi-V bottom, square transom, cabin aft and flush decks forward of cabin.
The cabin is accessed through a watertight (24”W X 62”H) hinged aluminum door centered on the forward cabin bulkhead equipped with two plastic dawgs, cabin is well arranged. To port forward is a helmsman station with electronic array, then sink with stowage under, then a two burner propane stove with oven and additional stowage under. To starboard forward is a dinette with seating for three with facing bench seats with stowage under. An enclosed head with marine toilet and sink is in the aft starboard corner. Two stacked berths are located athwartships at the back of the cabin. In the cabin overhead is an aluminum hatch for removal of the propulsion engines if needed.
The engine compartment is located beneath the cabin sole with access through one large hatch in the floor forward of the bottom berth. The engine compartment contains two gas engines port and starboard of centerline and directly coupled by drive lines to Hamilton water jets, batteries, fuel tank, bilge pump, hydraulic tank, fathometer through hull transducer, auxiliary fuel tank for cabin heater, Airitronic diesel electric heater, inverter for AC power, auxiliary engine for redundant hydraulics, auxiliary fuel filters for main engines, and fresh water tank; all are well arranged.
Forward of the cabin is a flush self-bailing deck with six watertight hatch covers over three large fish holds that are divided by removable aluminum bin boards to compartmentalize the fish hold area into six compartments. All fish hold area is insulated with a high-density urethane foam and sealed. The vessel carries six Nomar brailer bags, and the fish hold area is drained by one Rule 1500 GPH pump found in a sump on center with aluminum grate cover against the back fish hold bulkhead.
Forward of the fish holds is the gillnet reel with levelwind and anchor box with the second helmsman station to port. Forward of the gillnet reel is an oval aluminum watertight deck hatch for access below deck. A 2” hydraulic-driven Pacer pump is located under the deck on the starboard side near the bow area for the bow wash and a ball valve is found above deck on the starboard side near the gillnet drum for opening or closing the flow of water through the deck hose. The bow is fitted with a hydraulic power vulcanized bow roller with aluminum fairleads and a portable gas powered generator can be found under the forward steering station.
