GENERAL VESSEL DESCRIPTION and LAYOUT:
The F/V is a diesel single engine vessel with wood hull with fiberglass over coating with a raked stem, semi-vee with half tunnel and full keel, soft chine’s with 6” bilge keels port and starboard sides aft , curved stern with rounded corners, cabin forward with flying bridge, rigged for purse seining, fish hold amidships and self bailing open work deck aft with 14″ high bulwarks surrounding the aft deck. At the bow first is the anchor roller, mooring cleat and hydraulic aluminum anchor winch mounted to the fore deck. The wide walkways lead aft port and starboard to the main deck. An aluminum ladder accesses the flying bridge from port aft of the cabin. The flying bridge has a DC 12-volt jog control helm with engine controls, storage box with three helm seats attached, hydraulic steering reservoir and crow’s nest access.
A wood door enters the cabin from starboard aft; stepping down. To the starboard of entry is an enclosed head with a DC 12-volt electric marine toilet with macerator, battery disconnect switches and access to batteries behind aft head wall. Next forward to the starboard are storage cabinets, auxiliary generator instrument panel and AC breaker box recessed into the cabin wall. Centerline forward is the cabin helm with helm seat, hydraulic/ DC 12-volt jog control steering, engine controls, instrument panel, DC 12-volt switches, bilge switches, bilge high water alarms, electronics and a navigational compass. Port and starboard sides of the cabin helm are four tiered bunks with storage under bottom bunks. To the port of entry is access is the galley messing table with U-shaped bench seating; table hinges up to access top of main engine. Next to the port is the galley area with counter space, cupboards, double stainless sinks and a Dickenson diesel cook stove recessed into the cabinet. A hatch in the cabin sole centerline accesses the engine room; main engine, hydraulic reservoir, hydraulic pump, hot water heater and fuel filters. The vessel interior is finished with a rubber matt sole, FRP paneling ceiling, walls and bulkheads, wood cabinets with wood trim, DC 12-volt cabin lighting with wood framed windows.
The steel pipe mast attaches to the aft cabin lid / bulkhead / deck with steel pipe A-r\frame and forestays attached to the forward bow bulwarks. On the port aft cabin bulkhead is a seawater strainer for the seawater wash down pump and deck hose. Amidships forward of the main hold is a Kolstrand double headed hydraulic deck winch for purse seining, port and starboard of the deck winch are two galvinized steel purse davit stations with a movable roller purse davit mounted to the inside bulwarks. Next aft is the main fish hold with an 6” raised hatch coaming with an 83” x 83” hold opening. The fish hold is covered by three welded diamond tread aluminum hatch covers for access into the fish hold. The shaft alley running through the fish hold has an aluminum watertight flush access hatch for servicing the shaft intermediate bearing and stuffing box. The hold is sectioned off with bin boards and has a sump for the bilge/ RSW circulation pump. Next aft is a aluminum watertight flush deck hatch leading to the auxiliary generator/ RSW compartment. The auxiliary generator/ RSW compartment contains the RSW unit to the starboard side and a auxiliary generator starboard side and two DC 12-volt bilge pumps with internal floats. Centerline aft in the auxiliary generator/ RSW compartment accesses the lazaret through an aluminum watertight flush hinged access hatch. The lazaret contains the fuel tanks port and starboard, steering gear, rudder stuffing box, bilge pumps and high water alarm. The aft work deck is self-bailing with scuppers. A 10″ high bulwark encompasses the aft work deck capped with PVC guard material. The stern has an aluminum and PVC skiff guard with hawser hole for towing the seine skiff.
