Description:
F/V is a fiberglass vessel constructed in 1987 by Pacific Bow Pickers LTD in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. The vessel is a commercial fishing vessel of house aft design constructed with a raked bow, transom stern, hard chines, open deck forward, and fish hold amidships.
The layout of this vessel is as follows: On the bow is the aluminum roller and fairleads. Aft of the stem is the forward weather deck area used for picking fish. A helm station is located to starboard in this area. Located on the aft portion of this deck area is the 30-inch wide gillnet reel. Walkways are provided on either side of the reel. Bulwarks in this area are 35-inches tall. A 27-inch step up on either side of the net reel provides access to the weather deck area over the fish holds. This deck area measures ten feet wide and 52-inches long. The holds are divided into one larger center hold and two smaller wing holds. The holds are segregated into multiple compartments by bulkheads and bin boards.
The approximate carrying capacity of the fish hold is estimated at 6,000 lbs. The hatch covers on the wing holds are constructed of fiberglass and the center hold hatch cover is welded aluminum. Bulwarks in this area are nine-inches with a 25-inch welded aluminum handrail fitted on top for an overall rail height of 34-inches. There are two watertight transverse bulkheads on this vessel. One is the forward end of the fish hold and the other is the after end. Aft of the fish holds is the main cabin. Entry is through a centered door on the forward cabin bulkhead. A small companionway assists in entry into this space. To starboard is a settee, with storage provided underneath. To port is the main helm station with electronics and engine controls. Aft of the main helm is the galley area, which contains a propane range, sink, and counter space. Another small companionway provides access between the main cabin area and the berthing area
and engine compartment. In this area an enclosed head and shower are located on the starboard side with cabinetry on the port. Aft of both of these, extending thwartships is a single bunk, large enough to accommodate two persons. Under the bunk is the engine compartment. All materials, wiring, electronics, and machinery fitted on this vessel are in good repair. It should be noted that this survey was conducted in the wintertime. Extensive snow and ice buildup on the weather deck areas made accessing the fish hold and lazaret impracticable.
The F/V is in good condition. The hull condition is in good order with some minor surface scratches observed. All hull penetrations are tight and in good condition. The weather deck areas were overhauled in 2019. The fore deck area was refurbished and fiberglass tabbing added to strengthen the deck-hull interface. Machinery spaces were found to be neat and clean with all components installed in an efficient and neat arrangement. Bilges were clean and dry. The engines were not started nor ran as a part of the survey. Statements regarding the viability and condition of the main engine are outside the expertise of this surveyor and a certified diesel mechanic should be employed if information regarding the engine’s operational condition is desired.
The main cabin interior is trimmed out and finished with carpet on the bulkheads and the cabin sole, all in good condition. Electronics listed were in place during the survey. The F/V is in very good condition. With the institution and continuation of a maintenance program the vessel should provide many years of service in the fishing industry.
Price: $60,000
