GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The captioned fishing vessel of bow picker configuration and is used primarily for salmon drift gillnetting on the Copper River Delta and Prince William Sound in South Central Alaska. The hull is of molded fiberglass construction and is a planing design with raked bow, slight v bottom, hard chine and square stern. The cabin is located aft and is constructed of structural foam board with fiberglass overlay. Access to the cabin is through a watertight hinged aluminum door on centerline forward. To port of centerline is a helmsman station with electronic array with refrigerator / freezer & storage under, then two burner LPG range with stowage under, then sink with hydraulic tank under. To starboard forward is the dinette with double facing bench seats with heaters and storage under, then additional heater, then additional upright full cabin height locker. At aft end of cabin athwartships are two stacked berths. Atop of cabin is a molded fiberglass hatch fitted to fiberglass raised combings for removal of propulsion engines. The engine room can be accessed by removal of the bottom berth or by raising one of three hatches found inset in the cabin sole forward of the bottom berth. The engine room contains propulsion engines, auxiliary engine, vessels batteries, sea water strainers, waterjet units, fuel filters, primary fuel tank, hydraulic pumps, and bilge pumps; all are well arranged. Found on the outboard side on the forward cabin bulkhead to starboard is a locker. Forward of the cabin is a flush deck with fish hold located amidships. The fish hold area is divided into three compartments by three longitudinal bulkheads and the fish hold area is covered by six molded fiberglass hatches fitted to raised fiberglass combings. The fish hold capacity is approximately 10,000 lbs. of salmon. Forward of the fish hold is a flush deck that is constructed of structural foam board with fiberglass overlay. Forward of the fish hold on centerline is a aluminum gillnet reel mounted on an aluminum frame with aluminum manual level wind, to starboard of gillnet reel is a fiberglass propane bottle, then to port forward is the second helmsman station with aluminum oval Freeman deck hatch aft for access below deck. Below deck a Rule 1100 GPH pump, 2” bronze thru hull with bronze ball valve, Pacer 2” pump with plastic housing for net wash and deck hose are found. The bow is fitted with a hydraulic bow roller and secured to transom are an aluminum pipe waterjet guard, trim plates, and waterjet nozzles.
GENERAL COMMENTS:
