Vessel description: The Vessel is constructed of hand laid FRP (Glass reinforced plastic) of standard glass matte construction techniques for this type and service of vessel. Has a raked stem, a molded horseshoe type stern, full keel, and rounded chines. Deckhouse with a tophouse located forward of midships. Initially built as a troller and later converted to a typical NW style purse seiner. A major overhaul with substantial upgrades was completed in 2014 which included major engine rebuild and new rigging. A large working deck and rigging are aft of the cabin, Entry into the cabin finds. a enclosed head to port with a full galley area to starboard. Going forward find a large U shaped table settee to starboard and a couch settee to port. Foremost

finds the foc’sle area with 4 bunks. Entry to the engine room is through a cabin sole hinged floor hatchway. In the engine compartment finds the hydraulic tank forward, engine in the center and aluminum fuel tanks to port and starboard. A power take off w/ hydraulic pump system on the front of the main engine. The engine compartment also house various pumps and compressor and associated piping to support the Refrigerated Sea Water system and an assortment of chargers, pumps, electrical panel etc detailed later is this report. Aft of the engine compartment water tight bulkhead finds the FRP lined cargo hold which is serviced by the RSW (refrigerated salt water) system. Aft of the cargo hold is a tank compartment for the fresh water tank, pump, and hot water tank and gear storage. Up on the main deck on the bow is the anchor winch just forward to the cabin, roller, and in place anchor. There are side decks leading aft to the main work deck. Forward on the work deck finds purse davits port and starboard, deck winch on center. All deck gear hydraulic controls are located on the aft cabin bulkhead. The working mast is on centerline and cabin enter doorway to port and ladder to top house to starboard. Going up to the top house

finds the entry to starboard and dry exhaust stack and housing on centerline. Entry into the top house finds a fully equipment main helm with all electronics, steering and engine controls.

HULL EXTERIOR-SIDES

 

Hull type/Construction: Deep Vee hull, Round type hull, with white gel coat surface.

Hull cosmetics: Hull cosmetics are in good condition-minor nicks and scratches which are typical for a vessel of this age.

Moisture/Delamination: No moisture meter readings or delamination checks taken due to freezing temperatures. Results would be inconclusive.

Stem: Solid, no cracks on external inspection. Moisture readings relatively Dry.

Side thru hull fittings: All thru hull fittings are adequately secured and sealed to hull.

Rub rail: Rub rail is black plastic UHMW.

Engine room vents: Vents are attached and in good condition- no cracks sighted.

Condition summary: All exterior components found to in very good and serviceable condition for age and service of vessel.

 

TRANSOM

 

Transom type: Rounded transom.

Transom cosmetics: Very good transom surface condition.

 

HULL BOTTOM

 

Construction material: Vessel was not pulled for bottom inspection. No bottom inspection performed. Owner is advised to fully inspect bottom and all underwater machinery at next haul out.

 

KEEL

 

Keel type: Keel is molded in with hull. Reported concrete filled for ballast.

 

PROPELLER(S)/SHAFT(S) / STRUT(S)

 

Prop(s) description: Prop has three blades and is made of bronze alloy, Prop hub stamped with a

diameter and pitch of 38 X 28.RH. (from previous survey)

Shaft size / material: Shaft size is 2 1/2″ and made of Stainless steel. No pitting, cracks or corrosion sighted.

 

 

INTERIOR HULL & STRUCTURAL INSPECTION

HULL INTERIOR & STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS

 

Hull to deck joint: Inside flange type, Deck joint was covered with FRP (Fiber reinforced plastic), no cracks sighted where it could be sighted.

Stringers: Hull stiffness provided by FRP covered wooden longitudinal stringers that run the length of the vessel. Complete inspection not possible due to limited access. Stringers were sighted in the engine compartment and under portions of cabin sole and are well glassed into hull where sighted. Stringers checked with Moisture meter where accessible and all readings were relatively Dry. Stringers sounded with hammer where accessible and appeared very sound. No soft spots, separation, cracks rotting or splitting sighted. Limber holes appear to be adequately sealed where sighted.

 

Bulkheads: Athwartships reinforcement enhanced by structural bulkheads bonded to the hull with FRP (fiber reinforced plastic). All tabbing appears serviceable and sound with no cracks or separation of tabbing sighted in any compartments. No visual evidence of movement sighted in any bulkhead.

 

Stem: Solid stem, no cracks or separation sighted inside.

Inside of transom: Reinforced. Secure-no cracks or separation sighted.

 

 

ALL THRU HULL FITTINGS

 

Sea valves: Butterfly flange valves Sea valves sighted are used for: RSW intake, Deck washdown, Bronze seacock ball valve(s) installed for head intake /discharge.

 

Sea valve condition: Sea valves are all functional.

 

 

TOP DECK & SUPERSTRUCTURE

MAIN DECK & FITTINGS

 

Deck Surface: Molded fiberglass over plywood core. Black non-skid surface coating and wood decking around fish hold hatch.

 

Moisture/Delamination: No moisture meter readings or delamination checks taken due to freezing temperatures. Results would be inconclusive.

 

Anchor platform: Welded aluminum.

 

Windlass: Hydraulic motor driven drum.

 

Bow pulpit/rail: Stainless steel, well secured.
