GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This is a commercial fishing vessel constructed as a fiberglass drift gillnet bow picker with house aft and work deck forward.
This vessel commercial fishes for all species of salmon with a drift gillnet operation off the South/North Alaska Peninsula referred to as False Pass and Port Moller, Alaska.
The cabin sits center aft on deck and house the pilot ho use, galley, crew quarters, and head. Forward in the upper cabin is the pilot house with helm, helm chair, engine controls, navigation, and communication equipment. The galley is in the forward section cabin with mess, galley stove, header, lockers and storage. Below the cabin floor is a compartment that contains the fuel tank, fresh water tank, batteries, and ho t water tank. Lower cabin an is in the head with toilet, and shower. Crew quarters are here and access to the engine compartment is also here. The engine compartment has dual engines connected to Arnesion outdrives driven by dual ZF transmissions. The fuel system, hydraulic system, and bilge pumps are located here.
Forward work deck has all the working equipment for the vessel; a hydraulic reel, fairlead/power roller, anchor gear, vessel operators control station with helm, and engine controls, and hydraulic controls for operating deck equipment. Aft in the forward deck are the gear lockers on the port and starboard sides and the fish holds. Access to the fish holds are from hatches at the port, starboard and center.
