VESSEL DESCRIPTION:
The fishing vessel is a modern Alaskan aluminum bowpicker with house aft, flush deck fish holds midship and a self-bailing deck forward. At the bow is a Kinematics aluminum hydraulic powered bow roller. Aft, to port is an aluminum helms station with controls, hydraulic valves, and an aluminum hatch that accesses the LP locker in console. To starboard is an aluminum anchor locker built into bulwark. Aft, at centerline is the gillnet reel and a plastic half-tote that sits to starboard. Next aft is fish hold with six diamond plate aluminum hatch covers and jelly fish grates around perimeter. Aft of the work deck is an aluminum cabin, accessed through an aluminum water-tight door at vessel centerline.
Under deck, the vessel is separated by four bulkheads. The first bulkhead (partial) serves as a crash bulkhead that acts as water tank. Forward the second bulkhead is the bow compartment accessed by Freeman hatch forward the gillnet reel, houses the Pacer pump and fuel tank, and is drained by Rule 500 bilge pump. Forward the third bulkhead are the forward three insulated fish holds that are drained by center sump. Forward the fourth bulkhead are the aft three insulated fish holds and are drained by center sump. Aft of the fourth bulkhead is the engine room. The engine room houses the main engines, waterjets, hydraulic system and batteries; accessed by cabin sole and drained by Rule bilge pump.
INTERIOR DESCRIPTION
Access to the aft cabin is through a watertight aluminum door. Cabin is finished in vinyl overhead, marine carpet on walls, teak veneer cabinetry with teak trim, and linoleum sole. To forward port is a teak helms station with controls, electronics, breaker switches, and Captain’s seat. Aft of helm station and Captain’s seat is cabinetry with refrigerator, sink, stove, Dickinson heater and storage drawers below. Aft, athwartship along cabin stern are two bunk-style berths. Forward bunks on starboard is an enclosed head that’s finished in aluminum and FRP and has a marine manual toilet and shower nozzle. Forward the head on starboard side is settee with a small wood table with L-shaped bench seat.
