GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The fishing vessel is of a bowpicker configuration and is used primarily for salmon drift gillnetting. The hull is of molded fiberglass construction and is a planning design with a curved stem, semi-V bottom, hard chine and square transom.
The cabin is located aft and is constructed of ½” high-density foam-core with a fiberglass overlay. Access to the cabin is through a hinged aluminum door centered on the forward cabin bulkhead. The cabin layout is as follows from front to aft: To port is a helmsman station with electronic array and stowage under helmsman chair, then cabin heater with stowage under. To starboard forward is a dinette table with bench seat, then counter space with single stainless steel sink and storage under. Located at aft end are two stacked berths located athwartship with stowage lockers on each end of the berths. By raising the bottom berth and removing a box secured to the engine room bulkhead is access to the engine room. Found in the engine room are two propulsion engines to port and starboard of centerline coupled to waterjets on aft end, secured to starboard propulsion engine on front end is a hydraulic pump, located on centerline near aft end is the auxiliary engine with hydraulic pump for redundant hydraulics, found in the engine room bilge is a bilge pump on automatic float switch, a seawater strainer is found to outboard side and forward of each propulsion engine, and vessel batteries are found under cabin sole forward of engines; all is well arranged and secured. Secured to the outboard side of the cabin atop is a fiberglass hatch to help facilitate the removal of the propulsion engines if needed, aluminum pipe hand rail, and custom antenna/ light mast. Secured on the aft end outboard side of the cabin is an aluminum tank for the auxiliary engine no. 1.
Forward of the cabin is a fish hold covered by two molded fiberglass hatch covers fitted to a raised combing. The fish hold is fitted with three brailer bags and three slush bags; the approximate total carrying capacity is 4,000 lbs. of salmon.
Forward of the fish hold is a recessed self-bailing deck containing the gillnet reel near center, hydraulic tank to starboard of gillnet reel, anchor box to starboard of gillnet reel and forward of hydraulic tank, Pacer pump to port of gillnet reel, and second helmsman station to port and forward of gillnet reel. Secured to the bow is a hydraulic bow roller and secured to the outboard side on transom are the waterjet nozzles with high thrust reverse buckets, trim tabs with plastic hydraulic ram on each, and aluminum pipe waterjet guard.
