GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The fishing vessel is of a bowpicker configuration and is used primarily for salmon drift gillnetting. The hull, decks, and cabin are constructed of marine grade aluminum plate. The hull is a planning design with a curved stem, hard chine, semi-V bottom, and rounded transom.
The vessel layout from aft end to bow is as follows: Secured to outboard side on transom are the waterjet on center with trim tabs to outboard sides of waterjet; then cabin, then fish hold, then recessed self-bailing deck, then bow roller secured to bow. Entry into the cabin is through a hinged aluminum door. The cabin layout from forward to aft is as follows: to port of centerline is the helmsman station with electronic array and cubby stowage compartment & fuel filter under, then sink with stowage & fresh water pump under (fresh water tank is located under cabin sole). To starboard of centerline is a fixed table (under the table a circuit breaker panel, fire extinguisher, and stove oil filter are found) with facing padded seat (under the seat a storage locker and cubby for storage are found), then oil-fired stove with stowage under; athwartships at aft end are two stacked berths.
Raising the bottom berth allows access into the engine room; access into the engine room is also granted by raising an inset floor hatch found on center in the cabin sole & removing an enclosed box surrounding the front of the propulsion engine forward of the bottom berth. The engine room contains the propulsion engine, vessel batteries, bilge pumps, raw sea water strainer, hydraulic pump off propulsion engine, and electric hydraulic bucket shift pump; all are well arranged. Secured to outboard sides on the cabin are an aluminum hatch fitted to raised combings atop, an aluminum light mast & aluminum pipe stand that can serve as a radar dome mount atop, aluminum pipe hand rail atop, solar panels atop (system control unit for solar panels is found secured to starboard side of bottom berth, as well as A.C. invertor), and aluminum stove oil tank on aft end.
Forward of the cabin is the fish hold. The vessel’s primary fuel tank is accessible through the fish hold and secured against the outboard side of the forward cabin bulkhead. The fish hold is insulated and secured by one large aluminum diamond plate hatch cover fitted to raised combings, also in the fish hold is a sump pump on manual switch. The fish hold can be setup with six brailer bags and has a total capacity of approximately 4,000 lbs. of salmon. Forward of the fish hold is a recessed self-bailing deck that contains the gillnet reel near center (secured to the gillnet reel frame to starboard is a fire extinguisher), auxiliary engine in enclosed aluminum box to starboard, then forward and to starboard of gillnet reel an aluminum anchor box. Port of gillnet reel is an oval aluminum deck hatch for access below deck (located below deck are the Pacer pump for bow net wash & deck hose, and a through hull with ball valve for Pacer pump), forward of the oval aluminum deck hatch on deck is the forward helmsman station (found within the helmsman station is a fire extinguisher and a hydraulic tank), and secured to the bow is an the hydraulic bow roller with two aluminum live roller fairleads.
