GENERAL DESCRIPTION & ARRANGEMENT:
The F/V is an Alaskan whaleback salmon purse seiner currently fished commercially. The vessel is built of fiberglass with 1 ½” Aerocell foam core cabin and walkaround decks. Wheelhouse is reached by a step on the starboard outside of cabin and a stairway to port inside cabin. The mast is stepped aft of cabin with 3” I beam frame bracing under workdeck in engine room. A crow’s nest/steering station is atop mast. A large work deck is aft of cabin. A deck winch is located just aft of cabin. The fishhold is amidships, and a lazarette is located in the stern.
Main cabin is entered through a watertight aluminum door starboard aft. Cabin is finished with gel-coated walls, Formica counters and carpeted floor. Aft to port is an enclosed marine head with vanity and shower; next forward is galley containing sink, counter space, stoves and storage; to port is a stateroom with two bunks; next forward is table with seating for six; center forward is stairway leading up to wheelhouse. Forward is forecastle space housing three bunks and enclosed head.
WHEELHOUSE:
Wheelhouse has starboard steering station containing bucket seat, navigational equipment and table.
ENGINE SPACE:
Engine room is located below amidships thru an aluminum door beneath deck. Engine room contains main engine, gen set, filters, manifold and 18-ton RSW system. The engine room appears very well maintained and serviced.
The F/V is well designed and well maintained except as noted above. The overall condition of the vessel is good, and the vessel appears well suited for commercial fishing in Alaskan waters

GENERAL COMMENTS:
Approximately $16,000 was spent, excluding labor, in the spring of 2017 prior to the present owner purchasing the captioned vessel shown below:
1. Replaced all through hull fittings and valves ($500.00)
2. Installed a new Rotzler TH-2 picking boom winch ($3,100.00)
3. Replaced the electrical DC system (wiring and breaker panel) ($2,000.00)
4. Replaced all ship’s 12VDC batteries (see #3)
5. Replace the electrical AC system (wiring and breaker panel) ($2,500.00)
6. Installed new MMC engine controls ($5,000.00)
7. New Pro Mariner constavolt battery charger ($500.00)
8. New ComNav controllers ($1,000.00)
9. Installed a new fresh water system by replacing the hot water tank, plumbing and filter ($700.00)
10. New deck wash system with 110VAC electric pump (1”), plumbing and filter ($700.00)
Since September 2018, approximately $250,000 has been spent on the captioned vessel as follows, with much of the work being completed by the owner.
1. Completely re-gelcoated the hull and cabin exterior at a cost of approximately $3,500.
2. Replaced entire fuel system, removed tanks, replumbed with stainless steel lines and fittings ( ¾” s.s. supply lines, ½” s.s. return lines, installed new Racor 751000 Max for main and Racor 900FH for genset through a manifold system in engineroom and installed new stainless steel ball valves (cost: $10,000).
3. Rebuilt the steering rudder, rudder bearing and packing; installed a new tiller arm quadrant and steering ram, installed new stainless steel steering lines (5/8”), installed a new Accu-Steering model HM450 helm pump (providing hi/lo speed pump steering with new high pressure lines and 8-gal. stainless steel reservoir, and installed a ComNav rudder angle indicator (cost: $19,000).
4. Replaced the main propulsion shaft with a new 18’ X 2.5” stainless steel shaft and replaced the intermediate bearing with a Dodge bearing (cost: $9500).
5. Replaced the anchor winch valve with a Greeson valve (cost: $400.00).
6. The hydraulic system, on deck, received a major overhaul. Approximately $42,000 was spent replacing the hydraulic valve banks at the back of the cabin with a 3-bank SD25 main valve for deck winch, main boom winch and power block. An additional 8-section SD180 main valve was installed to control all boom winches (except the main boom winch), power block trolley, main boom topping and anchor winch. All new stainless steel hydraulic lines were added, and a new Bloom 10-N-L8 split drum for vanging, a Bloom 10-N-L8 single drum for power block trolley and a Pullmaster M-8 hydraulic main boom winch were added.
7. All new stainless steel ½” rigging cable was installed on the booms.
8. Approximately $21,000 was spent replacing the exhaust systems on the main and auxiliary engines. Two 5” Cowl mufflers (model # TS50PRS5000) for the main and one 2” Cowl muffler for the auxiliary were installed, as well as, stainless steel flex pipe and flanges and Salamander exhaust wrap.
9. The fish holds were redone by install a new bulkhead between the lazarette and old “Sunday” hold using 1” Canacore foam board with fiberglass overlay, installing a partial bulkhead akwhere the forward “Sunday” hold had been and installing aluminum bin boards athwartships between the holds. Concrete was removed between the stringers, the void filled with a 2-part poly foam and overlayed with fiberglassed 1” Canacore foam board. All surfaces received a coat of gelcoat. The fish hold was replumbed with 3” Sch 80 PVC pipe. (Cost: $7,000 for supplies alone)
10. Approximately $750 was spent on the electrical system, mainly to replace a 6-12VDC breaker panel for the galley, install a new fresh water pump and replace the 12VDC lighting with LED fixtures.
11. A Garmin GPSMap 1040XS GPS/radar (18HD)/sounder was installed (cost: $2,200).
12. Approximately $1,400 was spent installing additional 1500 GPH Rule bilge pumps in the lazarette with automatic float switch and warning light, and a 1 ¼” Gould model: 1DM1D4D4 wash down pump driven by a ¾ hp stainless steel motor
13. The material cost of refinishing the top house and main cabin cost approximately $5,000, with an additional cost of $1,400 for a Haier 10 cu.ft. 110VAC refrigerator/freezer and two stainless steel sinks (double in galley and single in head.
