VESSEL DESCRIPTION AND DESIGN CHARACTERISTICS:
This vessel is an all molded fiberglass, single diesel powered, combination fishing vessel. She is a deep draft uninspected vessel that has been professionally designed and constructed. The vessel has raked stem, flared bow, soft chine, continuous fore and aft sheer, straight sides, tumble home bull rails, and a slightly rounded horse show transom. The entire aft deck has been raised to flush with the foredeck. The entry lines forward are full allowing for a large berthing area and straight runs in the center sections are hard with flat running butt lines. The hull and superstructure are solid molded FRP with other structural members being FRP coated lumber, marine grade plywood Kusa lament beams and shelves. The deckhouse is fitted with a full width wrap around flying bridge and the fo’c’sle berthing area is in the forepeak. The engine compartment just forward of the (2) fish holds and has a total product capacity of approx. 50,000 lbs. of salmon when in chilled sea water. The shaft alley has a watertight flush hatch for accessing the single pillow block shaft bearing. The lazarette is aft of the fish hold to the transom and is clean and accessible from via a flush watertight hatch. The main tankage is in the lazarette and engine compartment. Access to the fore deck and ground tackle is port and starboard alongside the cabin. The work deck is flush with a raised hatch coaming and the transom rail is fitted with a Ss steel skiff guard and hawse pipe. In 2018-2019 a major reconstruction project was completed which mainly consisted of a new deck from the cabin aft, reconfigured fish holds, raised bulwarks, tankage, circulation, rsw, and exhaust. This model vessel is well known and utilized in multiple fisheries on the west coast and Alaska.
