General Description & Arrangement
The fishing vessel showcases a classic purse seiner design. Its structure includes a hull, decks, cabin, and top house crafted from molded fiberglass. The ship features a raked stem, a rounded chine, a square transom, and flush decks. The central fish hold is located amidships, a lazarette at the stern, and a stainless-steel plate shields the transom. The cabin, equipped with a top house, is situated forward of the midsection.
The vessel’s fish holds, insulated, and equipped for refrigerated seawater flooding, can carry approximately 50,000 lbs. A large, flush-mounted aluminum hatch covers the hold and is accessible via a removable aluminum oval hatch.
Beneath the main cabin floor lies an 18-ton refrigeration system and a 25-kW generator. The main cabin entered through a hinged, watertight aluminum door on the starboard, features a well-organized layout. It includes a head with a marine toilet, a day bunk with storage, a helmsman station with an electronic array, and a galley. The living area boasts a double-facing bench seat for six and leads to the fo’c’sle containing four V-berths.
The engine room, accessible via floor hatches or a staircase in the main cabin, houses the propulsion engine, auxiliary engines, a hydraulic tank, and other essential components, all neatly arranged.
The top house is reached by an aluminum ladder aft and an interior wooden ladder in the main cabin. It includes a helmsman station, a dinette with bench seats, a bench locker with two seats attached, and a full array of steering and electronics on the console.
The mast supports the fiberglass crow’s nest, equipped with a topping winch, picking booms, and a main boom with various winches. Additionally, there are davit sockets and a hydraulic deck winch. The stern’s lazarette houses the steering mechanism, fuel tanks, a freshwater tank, and a bilge pump. The vessel also features a hydraulic anchor winch at the bow.
Surveyors Impression:
The F/V is an exceptionally maintained vessel well-suited for navigation and operations in the waters of Alaska. Recent upgrades and maintenance have increased the value of this vessel and its intended operation. Attached is a list with the estimated valuation of modifications made in 2023.
