VESSEL DESCRIPTION:
The F/V is a typical Alaskan beach seiner with house forward and flybridge on top, walk around decks, work deck aft, and fish hold under work deck. The vessel is a displacement monohull with raked bow, round chine, full keel, and square stern. Hull, cabin, and decking is constructed of molded fiberglass. Vessel is powered by a single screw diesel engine.
Forward on bow is anchor and anchor windlass. The bulwarks average 15” tall and taper aft to a flush deck. The work deck is of a typical Prince William Sound seiner configuration with deck capstan, main mast, main boom, one picking boom, power block and hydraulic winches to orchestrate the operations of seine fishing. All hydraulics are running off a CRS Service hydraulic pump, driven off the main engine PTO.
The vessel is subdivided into four below deck compartments: fo’s’cle, engine room, fish hold, and lazarette. The fo’s’cle is accessed through cabin and houses four v-berths. The engine room is accessed through cabin sole and houses the main engine, hydraulic pump and tank. The fish hold is accessed from two fiberglass hatches on work deck and plumbed for a 7.5-ton RSW system. The stuffing box and shaft alley are accessed through fish hold. The lazarette is accessed by the Freeman hatch on aft work deck, houses the fuel tanks and rudder post, and drained by Rule bilge pump.
INTERIOR DESCRIPTION:
The house is forward the work deck and accessed through companionway in aft, starboard cabin. The galley is aft to port with stove, sink, counter, and heater. Forward the galley is settee with table and two facing bench seats. Most forward is access to fo’c’sle. Forward to starboard is cabin helm station. Aft that is an enclosed head. The interior is finished in teak wall paneling, Formica table and counters, and linoleum sole. Access to engine room is through stairs to cabin. The flybridge is positioned on top of cabin and accessed up aft ladder. Flybridge has navigation with steering controls and electronics.
