GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The fishing vessel is primarily designed as a longliner and has a molded fiberglass hull with a raked stem, semi-V bottom with horizontal 7” rolling chocks, three keels and square transom. A fiberglassed plywood cabin with molded fiberglass flybridge is found forward of amidships. A hydraulic anchor windless is secured to the forward weather deck in front of the cabin. The cabin is arranged as follows: four V-berths are located port and starboard in the foc’s’le, then a master’s double berth aft and under the cabin sole. The main cabin is up four steps and contains a large helmsman station to port forward, then cooking appliances, double stainless steel sink, counter space and adequate stowage under. To starboard forward is a U-shaped mess area with seating for five and stowage for five survival suits under the outboard seating, with stowage found under the table and facing bench seats; then a large enclosed head with vanity, marine electric toilet with holding tank, and shower head. A Norcold refrigerator/freezer is secured to the aft cabin bulkhead, as well as, AC/DC electrical panel and shore power master switch, bilge pump switches and generator control panel. A hanging locker is located inside the cabin to port of the cabin entry door. The engine room is below the main cabin sole with access by removing a floor hatch and descending via an aluminum rung ladder. The engine room contains two diesel propulsion engines, auxiliary engine, ship’s batteries, hot water tank, toilet holding tank, hydraulics and bilge pumps. The cabin sole is made of ½” plywood over ¾” fiberglassed foam-core and covered with carpet for sound deadening.
Aft of the cabin, through a hinged fiberglass insulated door is the work deck, set up for longlining. The deck is covered with an aluminum shelter secured to the bulwarks and extending to the transom. A pipe rail on the top of the aluminum shelter provides for storing bouys, poles and miscellaneous items. The shelter is well lit with five florescent and three halogen lights, as well as 14 side windows and five hinged aluminum doors for loading and access. Two overhead aluminum hatches fitted to a 8’ X 8’ raised combing facilities unloading the catch. The gear is set off the stern and retrieved through a station aft of the cabin on the port side of the shelter just aft of the cabin with full steering and hydraulic controls. A 30- skate aluminum drum fitted to a slider secured to the deck is centered aft. Below decks are five large insulated fish holds covered with fiberglassed foam-core decks and fitted with nine fiberglassed hatch covers fitted to raised combings. The fish holds have a capacity of approximately 70,000 lbs salmon. Two fiberglass fuel tanks (total capacity 550-gal.), steering gear and 2” hydraulic-driven Pacer pump are found in the lazarette aft with access through a watertight Freeman deck hatch. An additional 800-gal. fiberglass fuel tank is centered forward of the fish holds under the deck.
