GENERAL VESSEL DESCRIPTION and LAYOUT:
The F/V is a diesel single engine w/ propeller powered vessel w/ molded fiberglass hull. The hull has a raked stem, semi-vee full keel bottom, hard chine’s w/ 27’ x 10 ½” rolling chocks, curved transom stern. The cabin is forward w/ flying bridge above, navigation mast w/ fish hold amidships and self-bailing open work deck aft, covered w/ aluminum deck shelter for long lining. Three transverse bulkheads into four below deck compartments divide the vessel w/ three sets of longitudinal wood w fiberglass overlay stringers. At the bow first are the anchor roller, anchor w/ mooring cleats and hydraulic anchor winch mounted to the bow foredeck. The walkways lead aft port and starboard aft to self-bailing aft deck w/ aluminum pipe safety handrails mounted to the flying bridge surround. A welded aluminum ladder starboard aft cabin bulkhead accesses flying bridge. The flying bridge contains a fiberglass surround w/ Plexiglas visor, hydraulic helm w/ bench seat mounted to the cabin lid w/ storage underneath, engine controls and a compass. The Epirb is mounted to the port side dash and the self-launching survival raft is mounted centerline aft to the cabin lid. An aluminum plate freestanding mast is attached to the aft cabin lid and the main deck, mast is for exhaust, ventilation, antennas, lights and radar sweep.
The cabin is entered by a hinged fiberglass over wood Dutch door w/ window from port aft, taking two steps down. To the port of entry is a closet, cabinets for storage, the generators instrument panel, a built in Sharp Carousel microwave with a Black & Decker automatic coffee pot on the counter underneath. Next forward is a large Formica counter top with double stainless sinks, Princess two burner electric cook top recessed into the counter top, with drawers, cupboards and counter space. Next is the helm with pilot seat, hydraulic helm, engine controls, instruments, gauges, various electronics, DC 12-volt breaker panel and navigational compass. To the starboard of entry amidships are AC / DC magnetic breaker distribution panels for hydraulics, wash down, bilge pumps, bilge alarms, lights and a shore power selector switch recessed into the cabinet. Amidships to the starboard is the galley range, a Dickinson Pacific diesel oil range / oven; fuel is supplied from the main tank via a DC 12-volt pulse pump. On the starboard is an enclosed head with stainless sink, counter, cupboard, shower with drain and DC 12-volt electric marine toilet. Next forward is the galley table with U-shaped seating for five, with drawers and storage underneath. Next forward taking three steps down is the forepeak and is accessed by an open companionway in the center cabin and contains four vee bunks, with storage under the bottom bunks. A hatch centerline forward in the cabin sole accesses the engine room that houses the main engine, auxiliary generator, batteries, battery charger, hydraulics, hydraulic reservoir, pumps, hot water tank, bilge pumps and bilge high water alarm. The vessel interior is finished with a vinyl sole, carpeted ceiling, carpeted and oak panel bulkheads. Formica counter tops with oak cabinets and doors and oak trim. Lexan front windows bedded in sealant and fastened with stainless steel screws with aluminum framed side windows with sliders.
Aft of the cabin is the work deck, with raised bulwarks 23” to 28” in height with a 6” high 1 ½” aluminum pipe rail fastened to the top of the rail, fully enclosed with a reinforced 3/16” aluminum deck shelter. Next aft is the main hold divided into six holds with three each common with a sump in the center holds for the suction pump Port and starboard sides are four 58” x 31” insulated hatch covers and amidships are four 59” x 59” insulated hatch covers. Holds are insulated and covered with fiberglass; the two center holds are common with the side holds with sumps and covers to pump the holds. Next aft is the cockpit/work area with amidships a sliding aluminum long line reel with level wind. Next aft is a 22” square Freeman Marine flush deck hatch leading to the lazaret. The lazaret contains the fuel tanks, steering gear, rudder quadrant and stuffing box; two bilge pumps with floats, and a bilge alarm. A hydraulic helm with engine controls, and hydraulic controls with reel foot pedal are port aft. An aluminum fairlead is mounted to the transom. Port and starboard are built in checkers to stand in when the deck is full of fish, and they act as bins to keep the load from shifting too much.
